Here at Surf City, we have been giving surf lessons for over 20 years. Our well-trained staff will give you the best ocean experience possible. The lesson will start with instruction in ocean knowledge, covering the tides, winds and currents. We then talk about surfing etiquette and safety. Safety is an important factor anytime someone enters the water and we stress it with all our students. Before entering the water we go through some stretches to limber up, and then our instructor will show how to quickly “pop up” and find the right spot of the board to ride towards the beach. It is very important for us to start with this land lesson before entering the water. Once in the water, our instructors will be teaching “wave knowledge”, which wave offers the best chance of a good ride.

 

During the course of the lesson, our instructors will be guiding the student into the wave to give them the feel of  what it takes to catch a wave in the right spot. Surfing is one of the most difficult board sports to learn. Timing and wave knowledge are very important. These are learned ONLY by practice and perseverance. This is a sport that one keeps learning each time one enters the water. It is truly a lifetime sports for those dedicated to it’s quest of adventure.

 

Private Lesson: $60 per session - Includes equipment

Group Lesson: $40 per session - Includes equipment

Group Lesson student to instructor ratio: 3:1

Each Lesson is 1 ½ Hours.
